If you
don't have a Windows XP computer and most people won't at this point as they
are on Vista or Windows7. You will need to install a virtual machine (VM) and
run Windows XP in it. From what you have described, you might want to have a
computer savoy friend around to help you with this step.
After
installing a Windows XP VM and VOLVO VIDA DICE software, it isn't too hard to
use. I've not found any full directions yet. Just online threads but most
people don't provide step by step. The user interface isn't totally bad and you
can kind of figure out where to go and what to do. Being a clone, there is a
annoying useless window (looks like some kind of Volvo login window) that pops
up all the time that you need to kill.
So I'd say,
get a friend to help you install VM/XP which is the hardest part and then you
are probably ready to go on your own after to do some not too difficult
exploration.
One thing
that is very nice about a VM/XP installation is that its kind of like a virtual
computer that is independent from the rest of the computer. So interference
with other software won't exist. Its kind of like making a dedicated computer
(be it virtual) for your VOLVO VIDA DICE software. If you are not too familiar
with VM, probably check with a computer savoy friend.
